Mrs. Ashley Perry

Ashley is one of three Assistant Principals at Pizitz Middle School, and is passionate about supporting teaching and learning at the middle school level. Her particular areas of interest include student agency, technology integration, and fostering teacher leadership.

Ashley began her teaching career in Vestavia Hills at Central Elementary in 2011 with a fourth grade classroom. She spent the next three years teaching fifth grade before moving to Pizitz Middle School in 2015 to teach sixth grade science, followed by English language arts while directing the school's theatre program. She spent one year teaching at Pike Road Schools in Montgomery before returning to Pizitz in 2019.

During her thirteen years in education, Ashley has served Vestavia Hills City Schools through various initiatives, and enjoys collaborating with teachers and leaders across the district. She also enjoys working with community groups to write curriculum for summer programs. Whether working with a school or a community group, Ashley has found Vestavia's community support and passion for academic excellence to be essential to her success as an educator.

Ashley and her husband, Patrick, have been married for eleven years, and have a fur family of four cats and a dog. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys gardening, reading, photography, and home improvement projects.
