Elementary (Grades K–3) | Summer Reading Camp

• Who: Students in Kindergarten – 3rd grade who have a Student Reading Improvement Plan
• Cost: Free
• When: June 7 – June 30, 2021 (including Fridays)
• Times: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. daily; June 30 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
• Where: Vestavia Hills Elementary Cahaba Heights (in-person only)

Middle School (Grades 6–8) | Remediation

• Who: Students who are recommended for Summer School based on failure to meet standards necessary for success at the next grade level
• Cost: Free
• When: June 1 – July 1, 2021
• Times: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday (no Summer School on Fridays)
• Courses: Focus on gaps in learning as they pertain to critical standards for each grade level in all core content subjects with targeted math and literacy skills
• Where: Vestavia Hills Elementary Cahaba Heights (in-person only)

High School (Grades 9–12) | Credit Recovery and Credit Enhancement

Credit Recovery:

• Who: Students who did not earn credits needed during the school year
• Cost: Free
• When: June 1 – June 30, 2021
• Times: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday (no Summer School on Fridays)
• Courses: Based on need along with targeted math and literacy skills
• Note: Students will be required to come to campus to take End of Unit Post Tests and Semester Exams.

Credit Enhancement:

• Who: Currently enrolled high school students (grades 9–12)
• Cost: $175 per credit
• When: Choice between two sessions
• Session I: June 1 – June 21, 2021
• Session II: June 22 – July 13, 2021
• Times: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday (no Summer School on Fridays)
• Courses: Algebra I, Driver's Education, Career Preparation A, and Health
• Where: Vestavia Hills High School (blended instruction) for both Credit Recovery and Credit Enhancement
