Vestavia Hills City Schools receives national recognition for music education

April 12, 2022 — Vestavia Hills City Schools is once again being recognized for its commitment to teaching music.

The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation announced today that Vestavia Hills City Schools is a recipient of its 2022 Best Communities for Music Education designation.

Now in its 23rd year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to school districts across America that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide access to music education for all students. The NAMM Foundation takes into consideration a number of criteria when selecting its honorees, including funding for music education, participation and instructional time in music classes, and community support for music programs.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Vestavia Hills City Schools has been honored as one of the Best Communities for Music Education. VHCS is one of only four school districts in Alabama to receive this designation, according to a release from the NAMM Foundation.
