2022-23 School Fee Payment Portal Now Open

July 26, 2022

The school fee payment portal is now open for the 2022-23 school year. We are using a new platform this year called MySchoolBucks. To access the MySchoolBucks website, click on this link, create a free account, then select your student’s school.

You may be required to add your student's by name or student number after creating an account. Once your student has been added to your MySchoolBucks account, you will see fee payment information and be able to pay online. Be sure to check the "School Store" link in MySchoolBucks to view other, optional purchases available to you.

If you have questions about school fee payment, please contact your school’s bookkeeper.

Please read the important information below related to the start of the 2022-23 school year.

Parent-Student Handbook

All Vestavia Hills City Schools students and parents are required to review the Parent-Student Handbook. The Handbook has been updated since registration took place in April 2022. Please review the new Handbook by clicking here, then click here to confirm that you and your student have received and read the VHCS Parent-Student Handbook.

Mental Health Services Opt-In Form

Vestavia Hills City Schools provides and sponsors mental health services ranging from awareness and prevention to intervention and support. You may request to review any materials used in the guidance and counseling programs available to students by contacting the student's principal or school counselor.

Under Alabama law, no student under the age of fourteen (14) may participate in ongoing school counseling services including, but not limited to, mental health services, unless (1) the student's parent or legal guardian has submitted a written OPT-IN granting permission for the student to participate or (2) there is an imminent threat to the health of the student or others.

If you have a student under the age of 14, please click here to complete the OPT-IN form for mental health services at school.

Student Schedules

Students in Grades 6–12 may log in to PowerSchool and view their schedules. Go to the PowerSchool SIS Public Access Page, then click on “Student Sign In” on the lower right corner. Students should use their Chromebook login credentials to access this page. If you have questions about your student’s schedule, please contact their school.

School Meal Accounts

The USDA has ended its free school meal program for the 2022-23 school year. Student meal prices will be as follows each day (except for families who apply and are approved for Free and Reduced Price School Meals):

  • Breakfast, K-12: $1.75
  • Lunch, K-5: $2.50
  • Lunch, 6-12: $3.00

A la carte items may also be purchased, and we encourage you to use our cashless payment system for your student’s meal account. You may add money to your student’s account by visiting or pay by check. If you need your student’s lunch number or have questions about their meal account, please contact Child Nutrition Program Director Amanda Carlson at
