Kim Polson named new principal of Vestavia Hills Elementary Cahaba Heights
May 2, 2024 -- The Vestavia Hills Board of Education today named a new principal for Vestavia Hills Elementary Cahaba Heights (VHECH).
In a called meeting this evening, the Board named assistant principal Kim Polson as the school’s new principal.
Polson has served as the school’s assistant principal since 2021. She previously served as a special education teacher at VHECH and was selected as the school’s Teacher of the Year in 2020-21. Prior to arriving in Vestavia Hills City Schools, Polson worked as a special education teacher at elementary schools in Mountain Brook and Shelby County.
Polson has more than 25 years of experience as an educator. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from The University of Alabama, a master’s degree in early childhood and elementary education from UAB, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Samford University.
Polson officially takes over as VHECH principal Friday, May 3. A new assistant principal for the school will be named at a later date.
