Technology Home
Technology is a tool VHCS uses to support how students learn, how teachers teach, and how our school community stays connected. As a 1:1 district, every student has consistent access to a Chromebook to support instruction, communication, and the development of digital skills they'll need beyond graduation.
This work supports our district's strategic goals — particularly Student Experience and Family and Community Partnerships.
In classrooms, teachers are supported with training and tools so they can design engaging, effective learning experiences. Students are expected to develop technology skills alongside the habits of responsible, ethical, and safe technology use — including online safety awareness, evaluating credible sources, and digital citizenship.

VHCS Technology directly supports the district's Strategic Plan:
- Student Experience — 1:1 Chromebook access and digital literacy instruction support engaging, individualized learning and help students build the resilience and problem-solving skills the plan calls for.
- Employee Engagement — Ongoing professional development equips teachers to use technology confidently and design innovative, authentic learning experiences.
- Family and Community Partnerships — Tools like ClassLink and PowerSchool, along with clear communication about devices and policies, keep families informed and connected to their child's learning.
- Stewardship and Support — The Device Protection Plan and structured device lifecycle (K–5 classroom-based, 6–12 take-home) reflect responsible, purposeful resource management district-wide.
Technology Information for Families
VHCS is a 1:1 technology district. Every student, grades K–12, is issued a Chromebook.
